the nort end that concerns many is north of CP tracks,south of the river and from 3 rd street to the golf course, lots of good residential areas and some commercial located there but the accessibility detracts from the area,the city does not seem to have the will to service the area.

How many people have visited our north end? Everyone's likely been to Ye's Buffet, North 40, Sobey's Cash and Carry, Old Dutch. Brandon Radiator.
Also have TransCanada Motorsports, Strip mall with Husky, Patches, Best West Pets, BodyShades tanning salon.
Soon, Ashley Neufeld baseball diamonds will be completed.
Lady of the Lake and Stream and Wood, and Extreme Electronics are in the area.
That's just the very close vicinity.
Where do you think the emergency vehicles come from when you dial 9-1-1?
There are tours in the north end every year.
Help me spread the word about the north end. Name a few more places.
Who knows, maybe we've got enough school age children in the area, we may need a new school?

It Is a good area and has much potential.

If city hall had forward thinkers at the helm it could be even better.

The stock yards need to go. Not forced out though. Simply give the owner a time frame. Say ten years. Ten years of huge tax breaks where they can use the coin to move.

Seems that no one even notices what area is being talked about or the what bridge is closed. The city knows we are here, they raised our taxs ridiculous amounts this year even though our property values are dropping and access to the area is getting worse.

It is not new development. I live in the south end in the new development but spend a lot of time in the North end and I like the fact there is no new development. Would probably have this post deleted if I explain why so I wont....just like the North better than the south lol

I think some people are getting the areas confused between the north end and the north hill. Just my opinion.

I agree with bluejeanstoo, they are confusing the two. I'm curious to know why no one has mentioned 26th Street. That is another optional route to get to the North End and the North Hill.

David Livingston school, Zep's store, lot of penny candy to choose from back then. My grandparents lived in the North End and had a garden the size of a city block.Lots of fun times in the North End.

My grandparents used to live here, and we'd come stay for a week or two, during summer holidays when we were kids. And now, I live in my grandparents home.

Zep's was a favorite place to go.
Used to play with the neighbours' kids. Neighbour is still living next door.

I hear stories about pioneers settling here, and not having many services.
People didn't have much, back then.

Love the North End

But I have a bone to pick. As someone who proudly grew up in the North End, I'd like to clarify its boundary. CP tracks to the Assinniboine, 1st street to the Rec Centre. The North Hill is just that, the North Hill. That development came years after the true North End.
That being said, I miss Aunt Sarah's tremendously.

and would love to see a post office. I always drive to Christie's. Does anyone else sell stamps out this way? It's getting to be a pain with only one way out of the area right now (18th).

Good idea. I've thought the same, as whenever we get a parcel, and are not home to receive it, we must go to Christie's to pick it up.

I wonder if Husky sells stamps?
