    Does anyone know where I can buy chicks for laying hens and cooking hens?

    Not sure about at this time of the year but I know that lots of people pick up poultry of all sorts at total farm supply up on the north hill, stop in and ask John, I'm pretty sure he'll help you out.

    Many people sell them in the classifieds too, but it's getting late in the year for chicks.  
    put a wanted ad on & you might get someone who was late. We've stopped hatching out but will have chicks & laying hens next year. We hope to raise grazers (meat bird) to sell next year.

    But can you have chickens in city limits? I grew up on a modest little farm with chickens and I so love fresh eggs. I was very sad to see such pale yolks in my eggs from the grocery store.  
     
    Or, if I can't have my own chickens, do you know who sells farm fresh eggs? I'm still new here.

    Go to www.bergshatchery.com and see what they have currently. You would order either from there, or Total Farm Supply. They are delivered to Total Farm Supply, which is on 18th st north, on the west service road.
