Just an FYI for anyone that hadn't already noticed....  
To help these kinds of discussions be based on as much info as possible I've set the site up to automatically include local gas price info from Gas Buddy if it's determined that a discussion is related to gas prices.  
 
In the right-hand column of gas-related threads It'll show:  
- the lowest ten current prices along with a link to the rest  
- in order to give a better frame of reference for Brandon's currently prices, a comparison of the provincial and national averages both currently and historically  
 
It's of course based on the most current info that Gas Buddy users have submitted to it and so it's always possible that it'll be a few hours behind, but should give a nice snapshot of prices when they're being discussed like they are here

for the price to rise for that. Wish the prices would go down as quickly when it's fixed.  
 
It's also funny how there's always some asinine excuse for it going up. One day it's tied to oil price and the next it not. Bet if oil went up $5, the gas price will rise 10 cents, yet if it went down $5 there would be no change.  
 
Now it's also being blamed on our low dollar, yet if our dollar goes up, there will be another excuse for the price not going down.

Very true and the people who set the gas prices know that.

Just bought gas in Winnipeg couple hours ago at 99.9, most stations in there were at 102.9 and coming through Portage noticed gas at 124.9.....No reason at all for that big of price jump.....

Like a rocket,down like a feather.I will be patronizing the last stations in the city which keep their price down!

at 8pm. Everywhere else seems to be up to 124.9

Gas buddy just now Costco in Winnipeg half hour ago is still 99.9

7-11 on 34th was 109.9 at 9:30 PM.

Safeway as of 5 min ago still at 109.9 with an unusual amount of cars gassing up for 10pm on a weeknight!  
 
Little Chiefs, Husky and Coop 18th, Husky highway and Shell highway have all gone up since their last Gasbuddy updates  
 
Also thought it's worth mentioning...  
For the talk of a couple Petro Can stations being among the first to raise, 7-11 as one of the final at 109.9 happens to sell under the Petro banner

Yes, the highest gas prices that dominate this site is in Brandon. Go figure. The gas stations here just cant wait to jump the prices on us.

Lowest in Wpg. is 99.9- 102.9!

Winnipeg might have a few outliers but on average their stations have actually gone up more than Brandon (from 103 to over 121), some a full 20 cents:

The price in Winnipeg is 122.9 not 109.9 just clearing this up as I live in Winnipeg

Doesn't most of Manitoba's gas come from refineries in Edmonton?  
Are they spreading the pain or jumping on the band-wagon?

Mulcair is quite a dreamer , he is planning on taxing businesses etc. to pay for his planned daycare and now how is he going to pay for a refinery ?  
Macleans estimates a large refinery would cost between 18 and 20 Billion $

Sometimes when it come to the price increases on gas I feel like a mushroom, not sur if they keep us on the dark but they certainly feed us a lot of sh*t. The price of gas has been on a steady decline in the US and the cash market has turned around last week, the price of gas at the refineries, or the spot market, has risen around 13 cents a US gallon. Even if you factor in the exchange there is no way that fuel should be jumping by some of the numbers we are seeing, a four or five cent increase maybe, anything else is gouging.

An hour South and across the border in Dunseith gas is $0.72 a liter US. Even with the horrible exchange rate its still under $0.95 a liter. Makes driving to border services to pick up stuff a little nicer.

Oh snap, we have a massive oversupply of oil that could increase depending on Iran so the price of oil is at 6 year lows. Is there any other area of commerce where that would translate to an inflated cost to the consumer?  
 
And yes I am accounting for the dollar. Oh and as far as a refinery breaking down, that might help me believe we are not getting screwed if it were not for the aforementioned overstock of oil on hand.  
 
This spits in the face of supply and demand economics so are we left to believe the central constant in economics and capitalism does not apply to the oil industry.  
 
Is the oil industry on the same "too big to fail" list as the crooked banks and insurance companies that are making record profits after being given a get out of jail free card.

Yet gas prices at the pump just went up. Is it any wonder why my backside is feeling sore when I fuel up?

I see Winnipeg drivers woke up to a pump price of $1.16 I wonder how many days/weeks it takes Brandon to drop...

Buy out of town whenever possible, and if you have to buy in Brandon dont dare pick up any extras at the stations.

Unfortunately, the corporate gas station operators make very little off of the gas, but the in store stuff is their inventory and how they make any money. So by skipping the in store purchases, you are only hurting the local guy.

Was in Swan River on the weekend where gas was 120.9.
