The Large Police presence outside of the North 40 this morning,  
But I ask this what does it matter what patch they wear so long as they are participating in a local charity fund raising event?

I saw them as well, but as mentioned, unless there were laws broken, warrants or other reasons.......leave them be and let them go about their life.

Not all people on bikes are bad news.. and even if they are...they support real good causes some of em. Leave em be. Stupid topic to bring up. Their harmless. They are people just like us. .unless they've done harm and are wanted..leave em be. People are so judgemental..some bikers are the best people you'll ever meet.

Did anybody see the mc (replace mc with - kids, white people, cancer survivors, old people, Americans, Mexicans, Italians, Natives, Portuguese, Filipino etc etc whatever!) that were in town today the amount of police presence. Seen full patch HA (replace that with - xx clothing as applicable to the people listed above) as well as another patch (type of clothing) I did not recognize.  
 
Do you see how ridiculous the original post is? The "ooooooo motorcycle gang" is in town, must be here to break the law and shoot us all up....OR perhaps they are people who enjoy bikes and have lots of friends and like to help out their greater community and charities?! It could be as simple as that!  
 
Any event has a "police presence", but no one posts about all the cancer survivors are walking to raise money and I see a police presence....?!  
 
Every "group" has bad apples - bikers or church goers or nationalities or belief systems - who are we to judge with sweeping brush strokes from a distance without knowing them?  
 
(And no - I'm not a biker, I don't own a bike, nor do I know a biker...!)

..... We have members of a known criminal organization in town and people are upset because there was a police presence?  
 
Funny, I don't remember people complaining about a police presence with Steven Harper when he came to visit. :-). Jk  
 
Really, in all seriousness. Of course there was going to be a police presence, regardless of the reason they were riding through. I think every one is aware that not all people who ride are criminals. But every one is equally aware that the HA are a criminal organization and their presence in any given area increases the liklyhood of violence. Often started, not by them, but by load mouth wanna be tough guys who think it would be cool to take em on.  
 
They are used to having a police presence in many places they go and I for one appreciate the clear message to every one that there will be little tolerance for abhorrent behaviour.

They were doing a charity event. They stopped for a drink where I work. Really nice people!

I asked if anybody else seen it and asked if anybody else seen it and recognized the patch. I never said that the police presence was there. I never said anything either way about the police or bikers being good or bad. I am glad to see the moral majority spouting off again without actually reading the post but thanks for actually reading and staying on the original post.

OP I'm not sure it's reasonable to start this topic without expecting varied reaction.  
Did myself notice Police appearing to have a conversation with a small amount of motorcyclists yesterday morning along 18th st N. It did strike me as something you don't see every day but IMO important not to jump to conclusions and to trust that if there were any legit reason for immediate public concern that I imagine the Police would have communicated as such.

have been in town for a week. Saw them rolling in last Sunday. I actually forgot they were here because they either blended in with us or they laid low. They're no threat to me or my family so I turn my head and Im sure others do to.

So if the Indian Posse helped out at the food bank one day a year you would be fine with them in your town, around your kids? They are a gang of criminals please do not show them respect as they have not earned it.

Do you personally know these individuals? I would like to hear your justification of they have not earned respect dont show it?  
A simple it was nice to see bikers together supporting the community would suffice I think.

Have these bikers hurt you? Probably not! My god, they are people who ride motorcycles and wear a patch. Do you know how many charities they support? Sure there are a few bad seeds but that happens anywhere. Just because they have an HA patch on doesn't mean they are bad people. Watch the news, you see bad people all the time and they aren't wearing a patch. I wish I had seen them in Brandon. Stop and say hi, you'll realize they aren't all that bad.

Yes, I'm sure all members of the Hell's Angels are upstanding citizens who have no criminal record at all.  
 
Sheesh, I ride a bike, and would hate to be prejudged because of it but there is a difference between being a rider and being a hell's angel.

They are in fact a club... I would be less concerned with them being here spending money and not causing trouble. Perhaps we should be more concerned with the criminals we have here and less concerned with a club that's here for a visit. Not saying I agree with everything they do. Bit they were not causing problems in our city. If they were wanted or causing problems I am sure Brandon's finest would have done what's needed to be done. If you haven't had dealings with these people then you really can't form a judgment on them..... To do so is profiling same as saying all blacks are thieves or all natives are drunks or all Colombians are drug lords. Come on people grow up. I would be more concerned with all the young hoodlums running around breaking into cars and such and less concerned with a mc that's here not causing problems... Bit then this is just my opinion.

The Alzheimer Society's Westman Office457 9th Street had a poker derby saw some of the bikes parked down there from what I saw, I'm sure %99 of those who participated were not Hells Angels, and if any did it was just a PR stunt to give the impression they are just motorcycle enthusiast who are civic minded.  
The Hells Angels are a known criminal organization and shouldn't be welcomed to this town under any circumstances if you think there a bunch of misunderstood nice guys your kidding your self

If HA were in town to support a fundraiser ride, they weren't on the Alzheimer's one.  

Obviously you need to live under a rock to NOT understand who/what the HA's organization is. However at the end of the day it is made up of people of varying levels and depths of involvement. Everyday people have their own shady dealings, things that if everyone was aware of would garner them attention. Businesses and corporations......same thing. Governments.......well if you don't get the idea by now, no point going on lol. At the end of the day people are quick to judge and proclaim their opinion, all while singing the praises of tolerance, equality etc lol. Nothing has changed in this day and age, the lines have simply blurred and change. Ethnicity, sexual preference etc used to draw criticisms, judgements, attacks erc........now it's whatever the judgement/flavour of the day from social media is. I fully understand that joining the HA's is a process involving unfavourable activities. I however am more afraid of the everyday people who walk and live amongst all of us, with their actions, intentions, desires etc hidden. Flame on ebrandon.....flame on

on another note, for those of you that support the Hells Angels, which is your own right and freedom to do so, in my opinion I think TV shows like SOA have romanticized some peoples opinions of what these clubs are like...good and evil with the bottom line being MONEY!!! Make no mistake if you see them doing a good deed, chances are they have a hidden agenda behind it.  
 
me I don't care if its the Hells Angels, MW, or IP or the next door neighbor dealing crack or running hookers out of their basement....Scum is scum, and if its really dirty scum, the cops will take care of it in their own time and way.

Respectfully, I don't think anyone was communicating outright support for the HA's etc. what I did read.......repeatedly, was people sharing the thoughts such as don't judge people......can't assume......etc etc. A HA is a HA......but unless you know them personally, are aware specifically, with details erc about a crime or act they have committed, then you probably should hold your judgement to yourself. This doesn't apply because they are or aren't HA's.........this applies to people and the world in general. Why i tyoed this I don't know, because people are so deeply lost in the shadowy world of lies and self justifications, that they haven't seen the real world all around them since they were a child.

My understanding is that it is against the law to wear/display gang colours such as the Hell's Angels patches. I think the law was passed about ten years ago.

It did pass, was appealed and struck down by the appeal court. Hence if you have a Patch wear the hell out of it. Regardless it is how you feel/ earned it..  
Those who oppose do not have any idea what it is like to ride and earn the respect of fellow bikers..

I'm sure the families of their victims are stoked about all the charity work they are doing. HA is a criminal organization. Members that belong to it, belong to a criminal organization and are thus criminals by association. Lay with dogs, get fleas, etc.

The other patch you saw was that of the SUICIDE CREW MC. We organized a charity ride for the Soldier On Fund.We are a Motorcycle Club that supports our communities and have organized and participated in various charitable events including Courageous companions. Despite what some believe we have no bad intentions. We are a group of motorcycle enthusiasts that have family's, jobs and responsibilities just like everyone else.I would also like to thank everyone that participated and showed there support for this noble cause.  
 
Obviously as an MC we love to ride and meet new people and see new places. Please don't be shy when you see us and come introduce yourself,check out our bikes or a simple hi would be great!We want to know members of our community and want you to know us.

of the matter is that Mc (motorcycle clubs) like the HA are in fact 1% of all people in the world that ride motorcycles that have made the decision to join a criminal organization. Some authorities even suggest that if you see a 1% patch displayed on a members vest it means that they have killed for the gang however this is not something that the members openly admit for obvious reasons. All patches that members proudly display have meaning, some fairly innocent most not, and you would be fooling yourself to think that these types of gangs would allow just any rider to learn their culture or accept you unless you put in some hard time as a hang around or a prospect at which time you are highly scrutinized and most definitely have to have something to bring to the club whether it is brute force or your ability to "take care of business". All 1% Mc clubs have softened their public persona over the years mostly because it costs money to pay lawyers and it keeps the police off they're backs. I am sure it is a double edge sword for the members when they roll into every city with a police escort because they don't want trouble with the locals but they want to conduct business. They are probably here for a reason what it is the general public will never know because no matter how nice these guys are to your face you have not earned a patch. HA forever forever HA.

I'd rather have an MC in town than a group of oil execs. Just sayin.
