Kirkcaldy Drive Land Drainage Sewer Project
8/27/2015 at 2:44 PM
The Kirkcaldy Drive Land Drainage Sewer project has begun! The project includes the relocation of a portion of the dike north of the river to accommodate a new dry pond for storm water retention close to Conservation Drive. The new large diameter land drainage sewer will collect water from a large portion of the north hill and direct it to the pond in the event of a storm. The storm water is then released via a control structure through the existing dike. This project eliminates several existing outfalls along Kirkcaldy Drive which is important in the event of a flood response. To install the new land drainage sewer, the relocation of a high pressure gas main as well as a watermain replacement are required. The construction area stretches from Conservation Drive to 4th Street and will be completed by the spring of 2016.
