WARNING: Venting And Seeking Advice so don't get critical at the content of this thread!  
 
Months ago, My landlord who's renting out his trailer told me that the trailer park owners were handing out eviction notices and the residents would have until the end of October, 2015. My landlord later informed me that the people of the park fought against the owners and won declaring the notice invalid...I discovered a letter in the mailbox today indicting that the original notice of eviction is still active and now I have until October 31 to find new living arrangements.  
 
Is there anything I can do? I'm in a panic now since it's such short notice and I feel like I've been wronged somehow...any advice?

Phone residential tenancies, they'll be able to tell you for sure.  
There are rules for evictions, notices to vacate, etc., but this is a bit of a different circumstance obviously, so I would just give them a call and find out for sure.

i would phone them too and im a landlord, im not sure how this would be handled as the trailer court has given notice and your landlord would have no say, one thing tho if it goes further they really look for concrete proof, proof he informed you that the tenancy would only go to oct. and proof he said that that was void now, either way I think you are best to start looking hard for a new place

Everyone knew that trailer park was selling sooner or later, so it was never a permanent place to live honestly. Your landlord has given you two months notice, it isn't a lot of time to find a new place but I'm pretty sure they only need to give you a month.

the amount of notice needed for eviction depends on the reason, for no payment of rent technically it can be quicker then a month, and it can be as quick as 5 days if the tenant is a threat but if i own the unit and just want it back to live in it then i need to give 3 months and also follow the school rules if the tenant has children, the fact that everyone including the tenant knew the sale/eviction was likely makes it hard for us to determine where they fit in to the laws and that is also why i would phone the RTB, regardless of how that works it seems reasonable to me that the op has to move and just easier if they start looking, as said the trailer court was never a permanent solution

In any case, receiving an eviction notice like that on a weekend really sucks. There will be no answer there until Monday morning, leaving the OP all weekend with unanswered questions.  
Really sorry this is happening, unless you've ever faced the situation you have no idea how frightening it is, especially if you have children/pets.

you still have two months time, and your landlord has given you 2 months notice. It is also not his fault that they are selling the trailer park. So start looking for place today, instead of waiting until Monday to call around and find out what are your rights in this situation. You can do that too, but start looking and hopefully you will find a place soon.

it's the entire trailer court, then you won't be alone in the eviction. Have you asked your neighbors if they are also being told they have to find new homes?

Calling your landlord ( not the manager or park owner)regarding the notice and see what they have to say. Then I would talk to the manager and or park owner regarding the notice. Then you may have better information.  
 
Would suggest confirming with the residential tenancy branch your rights. Would suggest that if the owner of the trailer new of a legal eviction date of the home and didn't inform you properly that they may be responsible to compensate you to some degree . To my knowledge if the owner of the home (even on rented land) must give people until the end of the school year to move out or in the case of demolition based on vacancy rate in this area 5 months. As other posted mentioned I would start looking for another place as in many cases you have to file paperwork to recover costs when a illegal eviction is done .  
 
 
 

Our family too is affected by this eviction! It has been a long roller coaster ride of stress! I have been involved with all that has gone on with the hearings and I have never been so mind boggled with how things operate now a days!

As others have said, confirm with residential tenancy branch if this eviction is valid. They must be familiar with this case as it has indeed dragged on for a long time.
