I would just like to say a huge thank you.  
This goes to the couple who answered the pleas for help.  
My 13 year old son and his friends who are 11,13 were attacked on the bridge.  
You answered the calls and got my son to the hospital

I know one of the boys who was attacked. It's sickening to say the least. I really hope the boys recover well.

BPS should be on a man hunt to find the culprits. How far does it need to go before the powers that be acknowledge that we have a crime problem. I'd say that when our children can't even be safe walking our own streets, we are long past that point.

Actually arrested two of the guys responsible. But yes there is a crime problem.

They got six of them under arrest.  
Bps was amazing when I dealt with them at the hospital.

I'm so glad they caught more of those idiots.

is terrifying... can we have some details please? What time was this attack? A group of adults attacked some kids? What happened???

There was three boys 13,13,11  
This happened at 5:00  
Two men 21,20 attacked these boys stole there stuff and used violence.

The bps have them and charges have been laid

The cops said six.

This bridge has seem to become unsafe to walk on during all hours of any day! Sad that their are so many idiots who can't just leave people alone when they walk over it! I never feel safe walking over that build especially when meeting groups of people and I do not use it often! But my niece and her friends walk it daily and said there are people drinking on it and people have approached them....Crazy to think that it needs security or the bars down town need to be gone for it to be safer.....or maybe have a cop patrol on the other side since they are always near the crystal, sad that these children where attacked and I pray they are alright! Too bad it wasn't safe enough to drive on because it was a lot safer with traffic driving by!

guessing that they will all be released on bail, and in the end will receive a slap on the wrist, and perhaps a stern "tsk tsk"

They are adults, there should be no bail!! What kind of adult assaults kids, sure hope they feel big and strong cause they can beat up kids. Lock them up and throw away the key or better yet let the prisoners dish out punishment.

This is in the BPS news release today....  
 
At approximately 5:30 pm yesterday evening, Police responded to a report that a young male had been assaulted on the 8th Street Bridge and required medical assistance. Upon Police arrival, investigation revealed that three youths were approached by a group of individuals on the 8th Street Bridge while walking home from the skate park. The individuals assaulted the 3 youths and demanded their personal property which was in turn surrendered to the suspects and they fled from the scene. The three youths were treated for non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of the incident and were released from the hospital later in the evening. At approximately 6:15 pm, Police located a group of individuals in the 100 block of 12th Street North who matched the description of the suspects. A search incident to their arrest yielded the recovery of the items stolen from the victims. As a result, 2 Brandon men, aged 20 and 21 years old, were charged with 3 counts of Robbery with Violence and were held in custody to appear for a bail hearing later today. A 17 year old female youth from Brandon was charged with 3 counts of Robbery with Violence and Possession Property Obtained by Crime and was released from custody to appear in court in November. In addition, a 15 year old male youth from Brandon was charged with Possession Property Obtained by Crime and was also released from custody to appear in court in November.

Does anyone know whether these guys got out on bail or are they still in jail?  

Weird that they were only charged with "Robbery with Violence" rather than assault of a minor.

The couple that helped is my mom and dad. I really hope the kid is okay that got hurt... Thankfully my mom heard and ran to go see. Dad was helping signal for EMS/BPS.

This is the lady who helped ur son and friends.i am using my daughters account.My hubby helped to .Your thank you means a lot to both of us.To know that your son is okay and those low life's were caught is thanks enough.  
 

the party location has been moved from under the south end of the bridge to under the north end, not supprising that this occurred. more enforcement is required , on foot not just from the comfort of the car.
