My daughter is wanting to get a job but not sure how all in town will hire 14 year olds. I know that McDonald's and the. Movie theatre do because she has friends that work there. Anywhere else??

Tim Hortons does for sure. Probably any of the fast food places.

McDonalds is a really good first job, they have really good incentives and lots of extras.

When a child is under the age of 16 they need a work permit. Are limited to 20 hours per week. And can only work til 8-9 pm. They also need a SIN number.  
How to go about getting a permit, I'm not sure. But contact services Canada.  
 

When I started working that young my employer got the permit for me, and if I remember correctly I had to take it to my school to get signed.

Your employer will fill in the paperwork once you are hired and submit it to the labour board for the permit. A parent has to sign it, not the school. They can't work over 20 hours a week during the school year as someone said and there are restrictions on late nights etc. Any of the fast food jobs are great starting points for work experience and they are used to working with youth.
