Gone are the days to where Canada Post would correct their own error.  
 
We had a envelope delivered to our house two weeks ago. It was delivered to the wrong address. I have had it the mail box now for two weeks with a note on it stating it was delivered to the wrong address. Correct number but wrong street. The mail man continually bypasses the envelope sticking out of our mailbox with the note clearly stating it was delivered to the wrong house.  
 
Years past if this happened, the mailman would take it and deliver to the correct address. Why is this so hard to do now? If it's not on his route or has delivered to that address already, take it back to Douglas station and have it delivered out another day.  
 
Yes I know I could just put it in the mailbox and it would be processed again, but why can't the mailman take it when he's at my house daily?

I have had two options done....  
1-I have delivered it myself as it wasn't a big deal to the correct house if it is within the area.  
2-I love the super mail boxes so if I get wrong mail I can just pop it back in the outgoing mail box.

2 weeks?? I hope it's nothing important that the person is waiting for. Sheesh  
 
I either drop it off myself if it's a neighbour, flag down the mail person/delivery driver or pop it back in the mail. I would feel so incredibly guilty keeping it for that long....

I know in the past I was continuously delivered mail for the correct house number but different street. I would just drop it off to the correct home owner until one day I was chastised and made to feel like I was taking their mail.

You will be stating same story to your family or friends and you put that story on ebrandon you get blamed, jumped, judged, and sometimes get called stupid  
It is not the op that stated the error.

I would still feel guilty for not just dropping it off in the mail after a couple days went by. That's just me. Not trying to place blame but just offering up an easy, quick solution to the problem. The next time I saw the mail person, I'd ask about it. I know if I was the person waiting on this piece of mail, I'd appreciate that...I'm sorry you had a crappy experience.  
 
Last year, I left a Christmas card with a small gift card in it for our mail lady, clearly marked. It was left in there for awhile as I'm sure she probably thought it was just mail I hadn't brought in.  
 

I have gotten mail that has the correct address on but the wrong name. I have lived at my current address for over six years. I just shred the stuff. People don't even live in the province anymore

Right address, wrong name (my guess is people who lived here before me) I just place it back in the mail box and my mail lady will take it the next day. Although my mail lady and I are pretty familiar with each other and she knows me by name so she could probably make the assumption that the mail is not for me but she places it in the mail just in case and will take it back the next day if I leave it out!
