What does this have to do with gas prices

Here in Regina. Costco is 68

With prices in Alberta and Saskatchewan at 0.68, how much longer until we see it here in Manitoba?

Makes you want to go fill a few jerry cans up! Lol

Price of gas in Winnipeg - 71 cents or less  
Price in Brandon - 83.9 everywhere

76.9 at Heritage Co-op in Minnedosa. That's a 14 cent drop in a week.  
Wonder if it's just coincidence they dropped it AFTER everyone in Westman travelled to Ag Ex??

Down to 76.9 across the city it appears, not quite like Winnipeg and their 71-73 but nice to see it down some more nonetheless, cant remember the last time it was this low, maybe mid 1990s? I would've been really young anyways, now if diesel can also drop accordingly I will really be a happy camper!

Wide range for diesel in Brandon superstore has 94.9 posted while Husky has it at 84.9

Heck with the dollar, even at par with the U.S. it never went far enough. I still have the same amount of dollars in my pocket, and way more gas for my Truck.  
Hopefully soon I will be able to haul more groceries in my truck that is full of gas. Call me a simpleton, but I assume all those fuel savings should bring the cost of everything down to reality. Just paid .33cents a pound for bananas. Let the competitive nature of business begin.

Well maybe I'm just really negative but doubt if we'll see much decline in food prices even with lower gas prices. The price of a beef carcasses dropped from around $3.40 at it's high last summe, and dropped to around $2.70, nice decline, one would think that with a drop like that prices would have dropped to the consumer. We don't buy beef in the store but I do check prices when we are shopping, didn't notice much change. Since our exchange is so bad we'll likely not have any extra money even with lower fuel prices given there are so many things imported and priced in US dollars.

It's about time diesel got a break!

Just got diesel last night at petro Canada 1st and highway 73.9 go figure

they have 5c off/L on weekends  
plus my 2.5c off card you get for free as an esso extra member  
in the end I paid $0.661/L

This is nothing new, there has always been a significant discrepancy.

In 2012, in MB, the price of gas includes 10 cents per litre federal excise tax, 5 %gst (so let say 3 cents per L), and prov fuel tx of 14 cents perL. So if we were to add 27 cents per L to your base price calculation, then it would seem we are getting fuel cheaper than we should. 55.8 plus 27.0 would equal 82.8. Quick call the oil companies. Lol. I know that in 2013 or 2014 MB increased the fuel tax to fund the flood prevention the province was doing. So the taxes should be even more per L.  
The USA has very little taxes attached to fuel prices.

Canadas taxes are higher at every level so we pay more for our stuff, including gas

a part of it could be our gas taxes. Taxes are part of the collection that goes to the government to help cover infrastructure etc. It has been a while since I drove down into the states but when I did, I thought our roads back then were a heck of a lot better.

Their dairy industry is heavily subsidized. I don't think that factors into the gasoline discussion.

Yes but you are not factoring in the different tax rates.

At Heritage Co-op, a litre of gas is selling for 76.9 while a litre of 2% milk is a whopping 1.99.  
Just an observation.....
