I always stop for pedestrians, but there is some reasons I don't.
-if there standing there kind of
turning around and not really acting like there intending to cross... I don't know which was there crossing. So act like your going to cross and face the way your crossing.
-give cars time to stop, sometimes you don't always see a pedestrian, and when they just march out in front of you because they have the right of way it's dangerous, so make sure you can be seen (wear something bright and stand out!)
If you do these things I will stop for you! But I need time to stop, I need to be able to see you, and I need to know your actually intending to cross in front of me and not the other way.
Also just because some people really don't stop, if there is a set of lights close by I'd really try and cross there instead, even if it's half a block out of the way (:
