Which is better college or university for a wife with a full time job but wanted to go back to school?

It all depends on what you want to do with your life once you finish! Colleges usually offer 1 or 2 year certificates and sometimes you do practicums where you actually get a feel for the job. University you're looking at at least 3-4 years before you have a degree, and depending what it's in, finding a job might be more difficult than if you get something from a college.

with Sally, it really depends what she is interested in taking. For me it would depend which option offered evening and correspondence courses so that I could keep my job for as long as possible before having to reduce hours or resign completely. I would advise if she is considering BU or ACC (or another institution), to schedule an appointment with an advisor at each location and discuss the different options.

I have done both and have a degree plus a certificate! I went to university first and then college later in life and college was by far much more influential in shaping my career than university was. College is intimate setting where you go for a specific trade and instructors are normally there to help you out all the way!! They make nice references too!! It all depend on what someone is going to school for! If they are going to school just to go back to school then that is in its own issue! Further, if she wants to be a teacher then college is not the way to go.  
I suggest get her to look online at reviews of jobs and whatnot and "day in the life of..." Or ask on ebrandon- people are always more than willing to share their personal opinions and experiences!!!

Unless you have a 100% idea what you wanna do before university and what courses you need to get that career I find people that go to university leave with a bachelor of somthing and never use it. But people that go to college get a certificate for a certain trade or skill (nursing, policing, ag industries, computer) and use it the rest of there life. Some people get out of university and use there bachelor of whatever. But a good chunk of them do nothing with it and end up going back for more education.

I have a diploma from ACC (Web Design) but started university for personal development, to find myself, to find the questions to ask rather than the answers that are to be regurgitated. University has stretched my brain in directions that I did not know existed. I understand far more about life, politics, people, and MYSELF because of the various courses I have taken over the past four years.
