Since the road is closed at Westwood Bay there have been many vehicles seen using the bike path to get past. This is very dangerous and has been reported to BPS with no luck as they drive too fast to get plates. So to all those who walk or bike on this path please be careful. Too many idiots out there in a hurry.

They drive to fast to get plates ? I find that statement quite amusing if the BPS can't stop those vehicles then there is something terribly wrong .

Won't come down and sit. Have to call in with plates or take a picture.

Police should value safety before someone is hurt!  
If someone is hit after this has been mentioned not good public service very disappointed

And have seen this. However, the odd car that does this doesn't drive along the bike path really. They are going around the barricade and back to the road. Right now they've got the barricade up so we can't get up either side of the bay even though they are working on the west side now. Major pain for us.

If this was my neighbourhood, I'd fix the problem myself. I would go out to the farm, get two to six dark & large boulders loaded into the old truck with the loader (might take a few trips, depending on the stones) and drop them off at the bike path. Ta-dah! You are now done! They seem to work well for nature trails for Provincial/National Parks, so they should work here in town as well. And best of all... The fun will happen late in the evening when the perpetrators slam into 18 to 24 inch diameter rock in the middle of the night. The only drawback to this plan is that it requires some effort on your part. (...And a garbage bag to pick up the broken plastic in the morning) But, I'm a believer that individuals need to take upon their own action/effort to improve a community. Do it yourself when you can, rather than depending on someone else to do it for you.
