How do you take care of your hardwood? Best cleaners? Can you steam clean them?

don't steam clean or use excessive moisture, it will ruin your floor. A damp mop or a swiffer are the best options, nothing abrasive.

a Norwex mop! Dry mop the floor first then damp mop. I just use water, no cleaners & my floors are streak free. If anyone has laminate do the same. Norwex floor mops are a little pricey but worth every penny. Got rid of all my sponge mops, swiffers, etc. They are great for doing walls to. Try their cloths for doing your windows! You'll never buy window cleaners again, just use water. If you would like a Norwex rep I can recommend one to you as I do not sell it.

When we had real hardwood floors, the best cleaner we used was cheap black tea. Brew up a bucket with 4-5 tea bags, let it steep and then damp mop. The tannins in the tea are natural anti-bacterial cleaners, and the tea enhances the colour of the floor-and there is no harmful residue for babies or pets who might be crawling around.  
 
I also used method brand almond oil floor cleaner from time to time to condition the wood and shine the floor up. It smells like cookies when you mop with it. I did find it left a greasy residue if you used too much chelaner or you used it too often.
