clark had a concert at the westman centennial auditorium was a real good concert why cant Brandon get other big names ath auditorium or the keystone center westman place I sure like the atmosphere at WMCA way to go Brandon lets keep it up the WMCA is a good place

When they do get good concerts no one goes because it's too expensive. But those same people will take an afternoon off work, drive to Winnipeg, go out for supper, go to the concert and maybe stay the night or get home very late because ticket prices are maybe a few bucks cheaper. No one supports Brandon events and then complains nothing happens here.

The last couple of events we attended there,(Terri Clark and Colin James), the Auditorium was pretty much full so that argument doesn't hold true. The Auditorium is a great venue but they don't host events themselves, there has to be a promoter that is willing to find the entertainment and then find a date that works with their tour and then decide if that's going to be an event that will make them money. I agree that it sucks to have such a great venue sitting there empty but it takes a bit of planning and good luck to make these events work.

With Katie. Brandon wants concerts and won't support them. Brett Kissel (who is huge in Canadian country music right now) played the auditorium last year and attendance was embarrassing. When a city our size can't fill an 800 seat auditorium for a concert, other shows aren't going to book here. Brandon folks want these shows but don't support them. Even Bryan Adams tickets are still available. If he comes to play and we can't even fill 6000 seats, that's sad.

Here are some perfectly valid reasons...  
 
1)maybe people don't enjoy Terri Clark or other bands that come here enough to want to spend their money on attending  
 
2) maybe some people don't mind listening to quite music in their homes or car but they don't enjoy loud music at concerts  
 
3) maybe some people who would like to go, work evenings  
 
4) maybe some people just don't have the extra money in their budget  
 
5) maybe some people have health issues that prevent them from going  
 
Befor you paint everyone with the same brush, try and remember not everyone enjoys the same stuff you do or has the same availability as you do.
