Before I found my current apartment, I moved quite a bit (due to change in life's circumstances) and this is the first place that allowed me to have pets. But even as someone that is renting and has pets, I can definitely see why they wouldn't allow it. Even with a deposit of some kind for any damage they may cause. " |

I have seen so much damage from pets (both cats and dogs to apartments). The landlord will most likely have to remove all carpets, disenfect walls, etc. I do not blame them one bit for not allowing pets.
Why not wait until you are settled in "your" permanent home to get a pet? I always wanted a car, but rented, so never bothered looking, as I knew it would be to hard to find a decent place to live. (I rented for 15 years - waiting to get that cat). I now have a home, 2 cats and loving it, knowing I am not going to have to get rid of my pets, or have to look for a decent place to live.
Wait until you have your own place to give you and your pet the perfect, long lasting home.
