Having Ukrainian, Scottish, Polish, Irish, Welsh, German and Canadian ancestors makes an interesting Christmas Dinner, with peroghy, borscht, pork & beef pie, mashed plus turkey, gravy, boatloads of butter, sausages, Yorkshire pudding, lovely salads and a fruit pudding with rum sauce and Breyer's ice cream and fresh apple pie for dessert. That is after an egg, cheese, bacon and ham dish in the morning with cold cuts, fresh fruit, and cold quality sliced meats and cheese and a fresh loaf of bread.  
 
What are your Christmas season go to foods that you have fond memories of on Christmas Eve or day that have been family traditions?

We often have perishke and perogies, chicken and meatballs, and various vegetables and salads. For brunch we usually do hash brown casserole, bacon, eggs, fruit, and waffles or toast. Not sure what we're doing for dessert yet but it often is danties or apple pie.

My family has done a fondue on Christmas Eve my entire life (and probably before I was born) - not cheese or chocolate, the real hot oil kind of fondue. We have added broth, cheese, chocolate some years as well. Growing up, I thought that everyone did, just like I thought that everyone ate turkey on Christmas Day!

...whatever it is, it doesn't matter, as long as it's swimming in gravy, icing, or sour cream.

The only time of year that mom would make jelly molds or Jello molds! She does a three layer one with (from bottom to top): lemon Jello, lime Jello with pineapple, cherry Jello with banana slices.  
Also, she would make a green jello mold that had sour cream mixed in, I think??  
 
Often we ordered in Chinese food on Christmas Eve as mom had such a big dinner to prepare the next day!
