If it is a working phone number (gets an actual person) then wait. You got a fax. Do you know where he is from? If it is far away, sometimes it can take a while to get into town depending where you are from.
On the other hand, if he is in town, a 1/2 hour tops after a courtesy call would be my thoughts.
Do not do as the above poster said next time. It gets very frustrating to those coming in from out of town, especially the honest and timely ones.
My suggestion is that next time, get their cell phone number & give yours. That way, communication can be faster and is in my opinion, much more reliable. You can also tell them you will only wait "x" amount of time past the agreed time...of course keeping in mind their possible driving time to get from there to your place.
We have shown up in the past BEFORE the agreed upon time, more than once, after exchanging phone numbers, only to be told when we arrived that it was gone...sorry! (Grrr) It was a long drive for nothing.
Please be courteous in those cases. In this case, you were reasonable enough.
