Just wondering if the skating oval is open yet? I was hoping to do some skating during the Christmas holidays! Thanks!

This is a quote from The City of Brandon Facebook page (a reply to a question asked on Dec 18th if the Skating Oval was going to be open soon)...
"since the weather got colder, our crews have been working hard on the oval & weather-permitting, we plan to have it open in time for Christmas. We''ll post something on here to let you know when it''s ready!"

City has announced that the oval will open tomorrow at 4pm! Thanks to anyon that had a hand in getting things together in time for families to have an Xmas skate.

dumb question but we're a family of non skaters. can we slide along in our boots to check out the waterfall of lights? is that silly? lol

Not a silly question... There's lots of people that just walk around in their boots and pull their kids along in toboggans. There's also a few fire pits/picnic tables off to the side to warm up at as well.

I would also like to know this. Planned on going today but don't want to get all the way down there to find it closed. Says nothing on the city site or fb page. Obviously priority are the streets right now.

Just drove by the oval and it is cleared and there were people skating on it.
