the fire department is there, doors are open, smoke everywhere.

Any updates on this?

Will Safeway be open for business tomorrow?

They were open this afternoon so I would say yes they would be open tomorrow.

Brenda where did you get your facts from. I was there with my brother who is a volunteer firefighter. There was no smoke!!!! A fire sprinkler head burst. It creates a low pressure warning in their fire sprinkler system, which alerts the Fire Department. It was water, pure and simple.  
There is no need to scare staff, who value their job at Safeway, to be reading something that is untrue.  
The staff responded quickly, and closed that entrance/exit off, so they could get to mopping up the water. It was all cleaned up by 5pm, when I went back to get my Starbucks coffee.

Good Lord, I did not just come on here and post to scare staff. lol

The heating unit quit, and froze the sprinkler lines, causing the glass to pop, on the sprinkler heads, when the pipes heated up, the water started flowing. Old man winter strikes again.
