the city needs to get with the program and start cleaning these streets. darn near got hit head on by a cab today on 10th and sand trucks need to get out there.

Could be bare and dry and you could still get hit head on by a cabby, not all, but quite a few, are the worst so called professional drivers I have seen.

Heard city crews will be removing windrows and piles of snow on boulevards and corners starting this week. The highways department will be doing the same and has already started on 18th street. Once the snow is removed from the boulevards the streets will be cleared right to the curb. The problem was snow removal crews could only push the snow so far onto the boulevards because the boulevards are not very wide. Seen a few sanding trucks today. Give them sometime.

a pizza delivery car just about took two cars out yesterday, mine being one of them, turned right into traffic. Yikes.

that it takes time to clear the snow but it will be great to see the streets wider again. Some-too many-drivers seem to think it is their right to go fast right down the middle of the street. newsflash-no one is any more special than anyone else and "you" do not have the right to take the whole street and run someone else off the road. Slow down and there is (on the main streets) room still for 2 vehicles to pass or travel side by side, depending if it is 2 or 1 way. it isn't just taxi drivers hogging the road (though I did see 1 taxi make a left hand turn out of the right hand lane of Princess Avenue yesterday. )

I'm actually very impressed with the clean up the City has done. Let's not lose sight of the fact that we got hit with excessive amounts of snow not once but twice. After the first storm the clean up crews had main arteries and bus routes passable in very short order - they were not quite finished residential streets and we got hit again. I realize everybody wants "their" street cleaned "now" but that isn't realistic. People need to be patient and let these workers do their job. To that end, I have noticed a lot of vehicles that were left on the street during street cleaning and are now plowed in - this does not help speed up the process. Reading the above posts I'm getting that it's the drivers that need to slow down and drive with caution until this all gets cleaned up.

It would be nice if people slowed down a bit and were more cautious in spots were the streets are narrow and tight to get by. I''ve seen a lot of people just drift into the other lane almost sideswiping the driver beside them or causing a head on accident because they cross into the oncoming lane or just driving down the middle of the road without watching for other drivers on the road. Hopefully conditions will improve. They should be good by April.
