Here's a link to the video interview with Patrick. I think closure is all that can be achieved at this point. And an apology and acknowledgement would bring some level of closure, even if it was done in a private setting with the family.

If it is widely known who committed this crime, is there someone out there willing to facilitate a meeting with the person and the family?  
 
Brenda, just curious, were you ever interviewed by the police? Is there a chance that maybe you saw something that could help them put a few of the pieces together? Even if you think it's insignificant, it could be important.

didn't see anything that night. Heard over the years the same thing. There was probably 150 people in the bar that night, probably 90% impaired. Pretty sure police would be wasting their time interviewing us teenage drunks!

I'm thinking that because there is no statute of limitations for crimes like this, the person would not want to meet with and admit his guilt or an apology to anyone. Although I've heard the same name come up several times, I doubt if this will ever be resolved. I also know that the name was passed on to the police several years ago but nothing came of it ..

Barry had been our landlord when we first married in '82. We bought our farm in '84. Barry was such a nice guy. I am so sad his killer has never been brought to justice.

Ok Brenda, thank you for responding I had to ask though, you just never know who could have that piece of information to put the rest of the puzzle together.  
 
A name isn't enough, I'm sure the police already have his name. They need more evidence.

I was with BPS for 33 years and I was the first police car to that scene. The original call was for a drunk passed out on the sidewalk. This is one of those calls that never leave your mind even well after retiring. Personally, I don't know how the other party involved can live with himself, but there are some real evil people out there folks. I hope Barry is resting in peace but I'm not sure if that is the case as his murderer has gone unpunished. To the other party involved...your time will come when you have to face your creator. Won't take long to decide weather you go up or down. Taking a scene from Two and a Half Me..get sent back down to hell early because the devil sometimes forgets to spit on the pitch fork, "and trust me, you want the spit".

There was an article in the Brandon Sun some ten years back about this case. I don't have a sub to the Sun so can not search it.  
 
I believe there was a witness, the passenger in the truck that hit Barry. However you can not order someone to testify against their present marriage mate.  
Seems like she was going to confess but then changed her mind through a lawyer at the last minute.  
 
I believe the police purchased the truck for evidence and it is still in storage to this day.

I found these articles at newspaperarchives.com. I don't have a subs:cription, so the articles are not focused, but they're still readable. There's no mention of a witness in the truck but does suggest "a love triangle gone bad." It is a 2 part article written by Charles Brawn for the Brandon Sun Community News edition.

From reading the article posted in the two links above, police have a possible suspect and the possible truck involved, but there not enough evidence to put the suspect and truck that the police have at the scene and the suspect also isn't cooperating with police and wont admit to anything. There's some pretty stone cold people out there.

Can You Help Solve A Decades-Old Homicide?  
 
It's been almost 30 years, but Brandon City Police are still looking for whoever killed 41 year old George Barry Levins.  
On October 24th 1985, the local real estate agent was struck down by an unknown vehicle on a bike path near the 16 hundred block of Braecrest Drive.  
Sgt Kevin McLean tells CKLQ this was no accident as the investigation revealed that the vehicle deliberately ran Levins over.  
Sgt. McLean says they have followed up on a number of tips since the incident and in fact located a truck in Regina that police believe was involved in Levin's death.
