Does anyone know what's happening with the centre? Last I heard was that the city along with Valleyview Kidszone were bringing in Portable units for the daycare to be placed on the skating rink. Could be pretty interesting to see who is actually funding this project and if our taxes are going to be paying for this.

If your facts are correct. It doesn''''t matter who''''s funding it....the service is desperately needed for the children and their families. My tax money is dumped into a lot of areas I don''''t really like...but this one I love. Let''''s get them back on their feet!!! I''''m sure the staff would love a permanent, safe place to provide care in aswell. The possibilities are endless with a portable pod. Maybe a new nursery school for Brandon???  
 
Good luck and well wishes to the children and their families....the board and staff. I hope a real solution is in the works like the OP has said....but ....I''''ll believe it when I see it.

Since one building is being purchased or put in place for the daycare,think of how many more people or organizations will want more from the city as well. When you give and support an organization it should be fair to help others.  
From past experiences I know that fundraising and grants from the government help to offset costs. Donating property is one thing but around $60,000 plus the trenching of power and water and sewer.  
Yes albeit that the daycare will be operable again but at whose expense?

Who is paying for it, but I know the City is providing some funds.  
 
The portables are being provided because the building is in disrepair and it is not safe to have any sort of activity within it. As a parent that desperately needs the portables so I can continue to work and support my family, I am happy they are finally coming.  
 
I don't see this just being the city paying (if they are, again, I am just suspecting) because someone wants it. These portables are being brought in because the building is not operable. The city wants rent just as much as the next guy.
