The YMCA is $11.43 for an adult and $5.75 for a young adult, which i:ncludes infants. The Sportsplex is $7 for an adult and under 2 years is free. So it is significantly cheaper to go to the Sportsplex but I've heard that the pool temperature fluctuates and sometimes it can be quite cold. Has anyone experienced this? I want to take my 1 year old swimming but she won't last long if the water is chilly. Thanks!

My boys personally like the Y best, and so do I... they can't touch bottom at the sportsplex but they can at the Y and so I find they enjoy the Y best as they are more confident there... also the Y has a hot tub and the water slide doesn't go right into the pool so they like that a lot better... last time I was at the sportsplex (right after it re opened-it was chilly I thought) sometimes I find the Y can be too. I wish the sportsplex accommodated the little ones better (was shallower or a more gradual flow into the deeper water) cause it's a lot closer to where we live... and cheaper!

We like the sportsplex better. The y is more often than not too cold.

Friday night, swimming at the Sportsplex is $3.00. They have life jackets for use also and various toys. We go most Fridays and have only experienced one time when it was cooler. We like that it is a bigger pool than the Y.

Prefer Sportsplex

It's $22 or so for me and my 2 boys to go on what they call "family night", less than $10 to go to the Sportsplex on the same night. About the only thing we like better about the Y is the shallower pool but we can find more to do in the Sportsplex pool, especially when the slide is working (haven't been in awhile so not sure if it is or not).

Both are good but price is the biggest factor. It'd be great if the Y would reduce their rates one night a week...

Colder on Mondays at the Sportsplex

We do lessons at the sportsplex... We made the mistake of doing them once on a Monday evening and found the pool was always colder that day! I asked about this and was told it''s because they refill the pool on sunday night (or monday morning, can''t remember).
From now on, we avoid Mondays and it seems to be ok every other day.
