Can someone tell me where to find a notary public? I have a single document to be signed yet I've been looking for a notary for over two weeks to do so. Family members have found notary services free of charge at their local post office, banks and city halls, yet none of ours (Brandon) have any. I've called City Hall, Canada Post office and Westoba and they only have a commission of oath, not a notary. Help please!!

Hi there, yes, I did and am looking at a few weeks wait as they require an appointment. This is why I've been trying to find one elsewhere..

Have you called all law firms? I am certain if you tell them you just need something notarized they can get you an appointment quickly

maybe try insurance offices; don't know if that is a service they might provide.  
Have you tried Burgess Law Office - I had a document notarized there several years ago and was able to get in on very short notice.

Numerous items notarized by law firms with no appointment.  
 
Call them all, you will find one. I personally like AJS (no experience with him law wise, but seems to be a good guy) and Donald Legal.

In Manitoba, only lawyers can be a Notary Public, so you'll have to find a lawyer who can do it for you.  
 
If wait times are too long, I'm pretty sure Roy Johnston has drop in times on a certain day. Give them a call.

try mid month as maybe less busy with real estate closings. It really is only a 5 minute appt.
