What are some great places in Brandon that few know of? What hidden gem places in town can you personally recommend?  
 
I personally can recommend Fired Pizzaria. It may not be completely unknown, but it's certainly not known by everyone.

It's a beautiful property in the East end past the Green Spot and around the bend on 17th Street East. It's an "old" ice cream shop filled with antiques. You can also wander the walking paths which have antiques too and there is an arch for weddings or a fire pit for gatherings. I believe they also offer hot chocolate and cross country skiing/snowshoeing in winter. Great local business to support!

On 9th St across from the bank. Fresh tasting, authentic Latin American food.

I second that sabor Latino has some of the best food in Brandon! Their tortilla soup is the best I have ever tasted!

This totally qualifies! Rather than just going for coffee, gather a friend or two and visit Boardgame Empire (1150 19th st behind Applebees). They have all sorts of beverages including coffee and alcohol. There are also pub-style food choices (the chicken fingers are great). The owner is friendly and we've always had a great time... we tend to aim for a once-a-month visit.  
 
You just find an open table, find a game from their packed wall of selections you'd like to play, and spend a few hours with friends having fun. For (I think it's) $5 a person (which lets you play as many games as you like), it's so relaxing and just a delightful way to spend time with people.  
 
It's a mix of ages, but everyone is friendly and you just feel the positive atmosphere (or at least I do... a 40-year old gal).

Best pupusas in town. Sabor Latino is fine,but more expensive. Here, this is all they do, it's their speciality. Local, family owned, friendly, and delicious.

Because it's on Rosser, a lot of people drive by but don't stop. It is a great little fair-trade shop with all kinds of incredible artisan-crafted items: musical instruments, beautiful jewellery, household items, handmade paper and cards, you name it-and very reasonable prices.

The food establishment she is talking about is just north of Two Farm Kids, where Yellow Sub used to be.

they serve really good cheap food and are nice people too, unfortunately they are off my beaten path and i have to think of them, well worth the trip to the west end tho, and yup right by two farm kids and the 7 11 ect

Also - Wildflower Cafe on Rosser Avenue is an absolutely delicious place to have lunch down town.
