Does anyone know of places to donate clothes to that won't turn around and sell them like Value Village does?  
 
I have a bunch of maternity clothes that are far too small for me and didn't sell on here. Was thinking of donating them to say the woman's shelter or something along those lines.  
 
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Samaritan House is in big need right now - seems to me I just read something about them giving out 100 hampers+ per day and they are low on supplies. In this same read I know something was mentioned about needing gently used clothes. I think it is them that gives away clothes rather than selling, but not sure.  
 
I also prefer to give to the Nearly New shop or the one on Pacific (MCC Thriftstore???) - at least their "profits" stay in the community for people here - not going to shareholders and a pricey CEO like VV does.

Value Village gets the items from those bins

Diebetic donations all go to Value Village. They then get a few cents per pound.  
Sat 27th sale at school donations to overseas mission. See poster corner 18th and Vic.

Product from the red bins are sold to used clothing stores like Value village. They are not given to them ! Also a proceeds of all sales at Value village go directly to the Diabetes association.  
 
The funds they receive then are put back into supporting research and education on Diabetes in Canada. If you want to support this cause this is a great option.

Just google Value Village and see were there profits go.  
Hardly anything goes to diabetes. It goes to their sister company and all the big wigs who get paid.

At the friendship centre runs a prenatal and postnatal program. Across from the provincial building. Lots of expectant moms!

Please donate to Nearly New. All volunteer run and all proceeds go right back to our local hospital.

MCC thrift shop, stays local and helps people with no clothes as they can get vouchers from government funded services. Samaritan house, nearly new, Salvation Army, a few more than I listed but can't think of

it would be interesting if you could elaborate on what percentage of the profits that the 10 million is and what percent covers the overhead and profit that does not go to diabetes

We donated clothing to the immigrant center on pacific....call first and they will arrange a time with you for drop off. It is fabulous to help those that are new to our city let alone our Country

We take our stuff here. A good cause, money going to the hospital. Run by volunteers and I believe they have a drop off bin behind the store. They are across from Superstore. We were taking stuff to Value Village and the red bins but like others have said we were not sure how much money was actually going to Diabetes.

Sorry to go off topic but Net Revenue is after all expenses and gross revenue is before. You would have to contact them for more details .  
 
There are many places listed that are worth while places to donate items.
