Looks like these changes will happen in August. It gets rid of the circular routes 20 & 21. Adds a new route in the southend. Eliminates under used portions, Braecrest and McDonald. Most of the routes are the same but have a few changes.

changes improve the service for transit riders.  
 
Plus I hope I don't see 2 buses following each other on basically the same route, coming from downtown and south on 18th. street within minutes of each other.

Good to know changes are coming for Brandon Transit.

Most of that seems pretty reasonable. That south-end route is a good idea. I'm interested to see what the response will be for the deletion of MacDonald & Braecrest.

For those living on Mcdonald avenue. There will now be no public transportation within reasonable walking distance. With the loss of the Mcdonald ave route the nearest stops were the city circular routes on rosser which will be gone too.

sure some won't be pleased. But if transit barely has anyone getting on at those spots and the routes can be modified to make better use. On MacDonald, for the bus to all the way down to the golf course and pickup no one the majority of the time, why continue.

Have you ever ridden on the Brandon Transit? The two busses you are referring to actually have different routes. Yes they both head south on 18th until Richmond but one bus heads west at Richmond and travels as far west as Wankling which is past the 34th street traffic circle and hits Willowdale.  
 
I have not been on the #9 route but I am pretty sure that's the bus the continues south and does the area near the bowling alley.

'I would walk 500 miles' before I ride a transit bus ever again.  
 
I used to ride the bus. I hear the service needs improving, badly. My neighbour had to ride the bus when she broke her ankle and said 'never again'. She was on the bus for close to an hour to get back home.  
 
I hear from people that buses run late and they miss their connecting bus downtown and therefore are late for work.

I can see Braecrest being the bigger issue, but the pockets where there's likely higher number of transit users seem to be addressed.  
 
MacDonald Ave... you can still walk to 18th St to catch a bus... or up to 26th & Rosser, or to 34th & Rosser. I walked about a mile growing up to catch a bus and it's not bad. If hardly anyone is taking the bus in those areas, why should the city expend resources to service those areas?

I'm guessing MacDonald will be reevaluated after the new development goes in near the golf course. For one thing it was reported that Macdonald and 34 would be joined up as part of the development which would mean the bus route wouldn't have to double back.

I never ride the bus and used to quite a bit. It would take too long and I''d rather walk. It takes 15 minutes to walk to Shoppers Mall and I get exercise to boot.
