Was wondering if there is a Kite Flying club in Brandon.  
If not is there a good open space somewhere with no power lines that a person could go fly a kite ?

I'm not aware of any club, but we often fly our kites at Riverheights Park.

I have seen kites at Errol Black Park on First and Rosser.  
 
Dinsdale Park has reopened. The Riverbank area may have activities. Queens Park off of 26th (?) should be clear of flood problems but check the city website.  
 
School yards (but you have to be off by dusk or something like that.

Ducks Unlimited - Discovery center  
River heights Park  
Green space Off Maryland ave. - west of  
Riverview curling Club  
Green space behind cemetery  
Ball Diamonds next to Highways shop on north  
hill  
Optimus soccer fields on first street (if  
allowed in there flooded awhile ago)

What about Rideau park? Lots of kids there that would love to see a kite show

Last summer my kids used the fields of Vincent Massey school. Lots of space, no major obstacles other than all the dog poop. But if you wait for a hot few days or dry week the odds of stepping on a "soft one" will quickly diminish. You'll still inadvertently step on them because of the fact that you're always looking up, but you won't be needing to be angrily swishing your shoes through the long grass as often. ...Bloody irresponsible dog owners. Not only can they not remember the leash laws, but they seem to always forget to bring a "poop bag" with them as well. *sarcasm* Still, east of the football field is a good spot for kites I'm told by my kids. The parking lot is not too far off, as well.  
 
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

question where is Rideau park ???

I'm not sure on the exact streets but it's in the east end, just off Victoria, where the water tower is. There's the east end community centre, pool, splash park and play structure

I will check it out
