Does anyone know of any places in brandon that are always in need of workers? Can't seemed to find much except for skilled tradespeople.

Check Workopolis. I just found a few places and went for interviews this week.

I'm interested in anything but fast food service, not above just would be a last resort

I have applied for many. I have been told I have the qualifications and skills but someone just was above me by a little... I found out today one of the 50 plus jobs I have applied at had over a 100 resumes handed in. I was shocked. I just want a full time reliable job. I understand Brandon is political and you usually get a job by who you know but again I just want to work full time

If you are TRULY not picky and are willing to REALLY work, try applying at Maple Leaf. The turnover is like a revolving door, people come and go every week. Day time Rails always can use workers, but be warned it is VERY physical labor (expect to be soaked in sweat by day's end despite working in a refrigerated environment) You are assured of getting 40 hrs and they are always asking if anybody would like to volunteer for P.M. overtime.

We are a company outside brandon and had just advertised a position and had over 170 applicants! I couldn't believe there would be that many applying right now. Especially because with our posting it stated you need the appropriate schooling and/or experience.

A number of businesses in Clear Lake are looking for staff, but the hard part is finding a place to live.  
And the the jobs are only 3-4 months.  
Not as many people looking for a job in the Park.

That's exactly my point, 170 people applying for one job, the odds of getting it aren't very good..

You can't just sit and apply for advertised jobs.  
You have to make finding a job a "full time" job. Pound the streets. I got two great jobs that were not advertised by going to places. I would pick an area of town each day and off I went.
