I just recently moved to a new area of Brandon and I noticed there are white marks painted on the ground along where the sidewalks meet the road and openings for drive way approaches. These lines extended all the way past one of the intersections of our street and have directional arrows.  
 
could these mean our street is going to be dug up at some point? Is there any where the city of Brandon will list current and future road construction projects?

Thanks Trevor, do you know if there is any where to find when it might be happening or which company will be doing the work?  
 
I'm due to give birth soon and just want to make sure I am prepared for anything in case our street becomes closed.

Look for 2017 Contract C - Paving Works (L-03/17) and you can download the information, but no dates that I can see.

Usually the city will send out a letter in the mail to addresses affected saying what's involved in the project and what the timeline for the project will be. But if you call the City of Brandon public works or engineering departments, they should be able to give you a timeline of when the work will begin and when it will be completed.
