Re sign on the door, the current 18th st location will close Nov 21 at noon

Was fortunate to get an early preview of the new store tonight. As you might expect with just over a week to go, majority is stocked and I gather not much left at the soon to be prev location!

Things will sort itself out. People will find it's easier to shop online and the mall will fade away.  
 
Look at the turn over in stores already. Who can pay that much for a lease and have hardly no customers?

Is the store bigger because the old one was cluttered in the food section with all the merchandise placed in the aisles.

so does anyone know if the new shoppers drug mart will carry food items still?

With pad sites opening recently such as Harvey's, Swiss Chalet, East Side Mario's and soon, Original Joe's. And with the move of Sobey's and Shoppers to the Mall, the end seems imminent...

Other shoppers drug mart is like the bizzaro shoppers everything is backwards can’t wait to see the new one

can’t stand the current shoppers drug mart parking lot.

Anything left? Is it worth popping in for deals or not so much?

That’s awesome new store!!!!! Will be great for sure!

I won’t claim this to be the all exhaustive list but it’s pretty close no can’t miss deals that jumped out at me

Sunglasses  
Lottery tickets  
Drinks  
Shrimp rings  
Frozen pizza  
Small selection of Potato chips  
Cheese  
Mosquito repellant  
Kleenex  
Paper towels  
Small selection touques/mitts

Pharmacy itself still open  
 
That store closes at noon tomorrow and then this part of town goes SDM-less for a half day!

I was there this morning and thought it was really nice!! Plus an entrance to the mall, nothing wrong with that!!!

I went. I was a Shoppers employee for years. I was a little disappointed.  
 
In the suburbs of Toronto new stores are being made that have HUGE grocery sections.  
 
Loblaws Inc. grocery stores are usually cheaper than Sobeys. Case in point... when I go into other grocery stores like Safeway or Sobeys they are frequently empty... Real Canadian Superstore is always packed.  
 
This would have been a perfect chance for Loblaws to get another grocery (type) store in Brandon without having to open an actual grocery store. It is far enough away from Real Canadian Superstore that it wouldn’t really steal a lot of their own business, it would basically steal Sobey‘s business. Loblaws cannot build a separate grocery store in that area due to anti-trust regulations (Canadian Competition Act).  
 
I understand that Beauty Boutiques are basically a license to print money (you would be aghast at the mark-up & profit margins on cosmetics) but I would have grocery shopped there as I am an avid PC Optimum points collector and you don’t get points at Real Canadian Superstore unless it is one of the offers you’ve downloaded on the app. but you DO get points per dollar spent at Shoppers... for products that are identical in both stores.  
 
There is no reason I will start shopping at the new store.
