Lots of dark spots when I'm out at night...

But, I suppose it make the homes that have the lights shine brighter. I too have to admit that I wasn't much in the spirit until last week. Early cold & snow in November, that constant push for the season to start earlier from the stores/advertisements and the dreaded expenses that seem to increase every year. I can't blame anyone this year in having the "Christmas Blues" when I had it too. My lights for the house were problematic this time around and with my mood I was almost determined to just "give up" with the outdoor display. However, with the mild weather I couldn't ignore the opportunity to go out, fix and get them up and running for "one more time again" (That's what I keep saying to myself every year. LOL). ...And I'm feeling more festive this week now that it's all done and lit up. But, there were moments... Lights sold today are absolute crap! How is it that LED lights need "replacements bulbs"? The bulbs in theory don't burn out because they're LED, so why do they go out? I got so frustrated with the scam in the need to replace the string because we can't figure out which socket has the poor connection. It drives me nuts, that LED's from over ten years back are still working (because they are permanently set in the line), but the last year or two replacements are getting tossed in the trash because we can't get them working. What a "con-job" from the Holiday Light Industry, by engineering the flaw of bad connections with the sockets so customers will get fed-up with the current ones and go out to purchase more of the same. Then every couple of years change the socket design so we will eventually run out of spares and be forced to replace the old with new strands. What suckers we have become! Oops, got negative again. Must be festive. LOL So anyway, I'm taking the family out next week and I'm going by Adam's Christmas map from last year, but I'm asking everyone/anyone if there's any new displays we need to see this year?
... And before I forget... Hat's off to those who go above and beyond! Thank you for the lights & displays and Merry Christmas.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
