Boy what an adventure.  
 
Traveled 4744kms in 72hrs or 48hrs of driving with 1846kms in one day (yuck!!!). The first day was hell. I just started driving then no sooner that I get into the driving zone (you long distantce driving ppl you know what I am talking about) that me engine stops and starts to coast. I turned out to be my timing belt. I have an engine where when things like this happen it should break because my piston head rises as high as my valve goes down. Valves typically bend like pretzles (as my friend put it) when a piston strikes a valve. But by the grace of God this did not happen and the shop rate was $35/hr.  
 
So with an engine rebuilt and new gasgets on everything I was on my way two days later and $800 lighter in the wallet. I managed to catch the ferry on time. Leaving at 5:30pm with a 5hr drive through Newfoundland when the boat leaves at 11pm leaves little room for error but I made it.  
 
The Next day was the day from hell. I got off the boat and just drove. 1849kms later I was in Pettewawa at 1230am after 17hrs of driving. The caused my father to call me crazy and everybody else I "ran into". If any of you knows anything about east coast drving or even Quebec driving you will know how tiring it gets.  
 
I began driving again at 645am and finnished off in Thunder Bay 1339kms farther. The one thing I noted about this trip that most of the hiway was single lane and it was speed trap city. Some vehicles were pulled over more than once. I did not get caught but I did get one fingure wag and that was a good enough hit to me to slow down.  
 
This morning I started at 630am and arrived in Brandon around 430pm after covering 965kms I was finnished my "trip". Again in Ontario in was speed trap city but, as soon as I got the the MB border they went away.  
 
I hope I will not have to travel this far in this short of time again. To say that I was in Lewisport Newfoundland 72hrs ago is...wow! To say that I was the only driver scared a few pepople and surprized the rest as they did not expect me for another two days.
