US newspapers, worst quarterly ad revenue decline in recorded history

Came across this story from a few sources today...
It appears that newspapers south of the border have suffered the biggest quarterly decline in advertising revenue since quarterly data was tracked in 1971. From the same time last year, revenue fell 28.3% to $6.6 billion from the previous $9.2 billion.
While there's been talk for many years of turbulent times in that industry, it would be hard to overlook the current economic situation in that particular country as a major contributing factor.
