Norland has survived but seems to be biennial fruiting and subject to Fireblight.
We have just planted Gemini and Norkent trees purchased locally and are hoping they survive ok, should as they are both rated as hardy to zone 2.
Make sure you do the research, especially in regards to pollination and flowering times.
As Adam says please let us know how you get on. "
I know of a few established goodland trees that are in the Erickson area, zone 2, and they have been producing well for years. Maybe other factors were at play when you lost yours? There can be quite a few reasons why some trees might not survive.
All fruiting trees & fruiting shrubs are susceptible to fire blight. It is carried by wind, birds, and bringing an infected tree or portion of an infected tree into your yard...or a neighbor doing the same. There are ways to try to control fireblight. If not controlled it will kill its host.
