Good positive answer Doug. There can be a lot of little (seemingly) differences in the electrical / electronics end of things. One I saw once the vehicle computer was not compatible with the fuel injectors in the new engine and burned out the injector drivers. There was a 2 or 3 year difference in the engines(Chrysler by the way).
A little research may go a long way toward a successful swap. Good luck
