Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapists (RTs) are essential members of the healthcare team, working alongside physicians, nurses, and other professionals to care for patients across all healthcare settings. As experts in airway management and oxygen therapy, RTs assess patients and manage life-saving equipment. They monitor patients closely, adjust therapy as needed, and use strong clinical judgement and teamwork to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Qualifications:
-Eligible for and maintains licensure to practice as a respiratory therapist in the Province of Manitoba
-Certified in Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life support or Neonatal Resuscitation Program
-Must have an extensive knowledge of each area of the department, both in procedures and techniques in order to operate area, assist in area, and analyze technical procedures and problems in each area
-Must have special ability and knowledge in Quality Control and Standards of Respiratory Care, exhibited qualities of leadership, teaching and self-improvement; Must be able to provide input and planning in a clinical setting
-Demonstrated leadership
-Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
-Ability to prioritize in a changing environment
-Strong organizational, decision making and problem-solving skills
-Ability to display independent judgment
-Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
-Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
-Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis
