About the Role
Westman Fire Protection is expanding its Fire Suppression and Hood Cleaning division and is seeking a motivated Entry Level Fire Suppression Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the fire protection industry.
As part of our team, you will receive hands-on training while assisting with the inspection, installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and kitchen exhaust systems. Working alongside experienced technicians, you will help protect businesses and facilities throughout the Westman region while developing valuable technical skills and industry certifications.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work evenings, overnights, and occasional weekends
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Physically capable of lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of environments
- Comfortable working at heights and in commercial facilities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Willingness to learn and complete industry training and certifications
- Previous experience in construction, mechanical trades, fire protection, or related industries is considered an asset but not required
Duties
- Assist with inspections, installations, repairs, and maintenance of fire suppression systems
- Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and servicing of fire extinguishers
- Support kitchen suppression system installations and inspections
- Assist with kitchen hood and exhaust system cleaning services
- Travel to customer sites throughout the Westman region
- Complete required documentation and service reports
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
- Participate in training and certification programs
- Respond to emergency service calls when required
