Bakery Clerk
For our Bakery Department located in Minnedosa, MB
The Bakery Clerk is responsible for providing an exceptional level of customer service and maintain a safe and efficient operation while adhering to all company policies, procedures, and standards. This includes packaging and pricing baked goods; merchandising and displaying products; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service; assist customers with product selection, special orders, product knowledge, and inquiries; collaborate respectfully with Team Members to support a positive work environment and deliver a World Class Customer Experience.
- Merchandise bakery products, build displays, ensure products are properly faced, priced, signed, and presented according to Brand Standards; maintain awareness of promotions, updates, and bulletins.
- Slice, package, wrap, label, and price bakery products; receive, inspect, store, and rotate merchandise using first-in, first-out procedures; monitor product freshness, quality, and food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, bakery department, backroom, and work areas; dispose of waste and debris; follow food safety, WHMIS, occupational health and safety, asset protection, and security procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts, transfers, markdowns, shrink and spoilage tracking, and other duties assigned by the Bakery Manager to support operational efficiency and margin control.
?Education and Experience:
- Completion of high school, preferred.
- Previous customer service or retail experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior WHMIS training is an asset.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and development within the retail and food industry.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is considered an asset.
- Retail bakery environment requiring prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and repetitive movements.
- Regular handling of bakery products and supplies.
- May be required to lift and carry items up to 20 kg. Requires use of all senses and adherence to food safety and workplace safety standards.
