Position Summary
We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused Part-Time Aircraft Fueler (Line Service Technician) to join our team. You will be responsible for safely fueling aircraft, performing de-icing duties during winter operations, marshalling planes, and assisting with general cleaning and facility maintenance. This role offers 20 to 30 hours per week during regular daytime shifts from 0700 to 1700, with potential for increased hours depending on flight volumes and operational workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Aircraft Fueling: Safely operate fuel equipment and dispense Jet A1 and Avgas (100LL) into various types of aircraft following strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Aircraft De-Icing: Perform aircraft de-icing operations during winter weather conditions, ensuring all aerodynamic surfaces are clear of frost, ice, and snow prior to flight.
- Ramp & Facility Upkeep: Perform general cleaning, custodial, and light maintenance duties to keep the hangar, ramp area, and facility clean, safe, and professional.
- Ramp Services: Marshal, park, and reposition aircraft safely on the ramp and inside hangars.
- Customer Service: Greet pilots and passengers, assist flight school students, and help maintain a welcoming environment at the facility.
- Quality Control: Perform daily fuel quality checks, tank sump draining, and maintain clean, safe fueling and de-icing equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to Transport Canada regulations, winter operations protocols, company safety policies, and environmental standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Driver?s License: A clean Manitoba Class 5 driver?s license is required.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old to operate heavy equipment, de-icing equipment, and fuel trucks.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Transport Canada Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) or airport security pass if required.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors in all Canadian weather conditions (including extreme winter cold), lift heavy hoses, perform standard cleaning tasks, and stand for extended periods.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience: Previous ramp, warehouse, janitorial, or agricultural equipment operation experience is preferred, but comprehensive on-the-job training (including de-icing certification) is provided.
