Alexander Radulov breaks NHL contract to sign in Russia

A bit of a concerning signing in hockey today. Alexander Radulov, an up and coming young player with the Nashville Predators, has signed to play in Russia next season even though his NHL contract committed him to play in Nashville for this coming season.
Since the particular Russian league he signed with and the NHL have no agreement in place to prohibit poaching each others' players, Nashville is up you-know-what creek.
After all of the money that was thrown at Jaromir Jagr to get him to play in Russia and now this, one has to be a bit concerned about the european talent pool in the NHL... but I can't see many top flight North Americans going over to play.
