I realize Brandon are the underdogs but they seem to have gained back some steam since they fell apart after those big trades. They played well in their final game of the season and showed some real heart to be able to come back from a four goal deficit. Anyone know if Thompson will be back between the pipes for Game 1?

I don’t see why they would be the underdogs. They finished with a few wins more and 5 points more in the standings. Plus they won 3-4 meetings in the regular season. Although every game went to ot.

Who'd have thought after the trades and with the way games were going for the weeks afterwards that things would look the way they do today. This is a team on the upswing this year and into next year. Sure seems like a good opportunity is in front of them with the way the playoff bracket's setup.. but think it would be a mistake to overlook the Tigers between home ice advantage and how badly they outshot the WKs the last two times they played. Let's see what you're made of boys!

I was surprised they didn’t keep rolling with the hot hand in Myskiw. If he plays well keep him in and get LT ready for round 2. If Myskiw falters, then play LT in Dauphin, which would have given him an extra 5 days to recover from injury.

But all that being said, I don’t think it’s the goaltending that’s lost us the first two games. It’s been a combination of MH speed and aggressive forechecking and our lack of D zone coverage, and the lack of offensive zone time by our top forwards.

When your 4th line has the most production after 2 games, you won’t win to many games.

Disappointing that Baron Thompson will miss the next two games after receiving a 3 game suspension for a kneeing minor in game one.

I am actually disappointed in the lack of fans at the game in Dauphin.

The arena holds 2,000 or so people standing, and it wasn't anywhere near a sell out crowd (never mind tickets sold, I'm talking physical bodies).

The talk in Dauphin amongst the locals is "this will likely be Dauphin's last time hosting".

Why are there so few people attending the games,people are always complaining about Brandon playing out of town for the fair but what does it matter. Lets get out there and support these kids and maybe they will get into the semi final.

If Brandon is winning everyone is excited and shows up but when there down but not out everyone gives up,lets get out there tonight and show some Wheatking pride!!

Great game to be a fan last night, even if I suspect the coaches would prefer a 2-1 game to a 5-4 one!

This is just me personally talking..... in a perfect world you'd see a sellout every game, but if you look back on past years' game summaries for the 2nd round it's more the rule than the exception to have a crowd around 4000ish for a game at this point of the playoffs. There was a day when I paid a lot more attention to attendance but have come to realize it's not something that as a fan I can control. All you can ask for are a few thousand other folks that enjoy this calibre of hockey to make for quality atmosphere and a good night out, and I would describe last night exactly that way.
At any rate, another almost must-win tonight!

Wheaties put up a fight this post season. Nothing to be ashamed about. Some key players will move on again but the future still looks bright for nect season!! Have a great summer young guns and see you in the fall.
