The Wheat Kings will be looking to win their second straight tonight when the Kootenay Ice visit Brandon for the second time this season.
Kootenay made a bit of a statement on the direction they're headed this season by trading veterans John Negrin and Michael Stickland at the trade deadline. They are still hard to get a read on however..... The current roster has beaten Calgary twice since the deadline, yet blew a 4-0 3rd period lead in Regina last night before winning in a shootout.
Brandon won the last game between these two teams, 3-2 on New Year's Eve in Kootenay. That game got a little rough, with five fights in total. Kootenay won a wild one 7-6 in a shootout in Brandon late November. Fans may remember that game for the two late goals the Wheat Kings scored to force overtime.
I'll post scratches and lineups approx a half hour before puck drop.
