Depape wins MJHL Rookie of the Year

Great to read this morning that 16 year old Wheat Kings' prospect Jordan Depape has been named the MJHL Rookie of the Year per the link below.
Depape was of course assigned to the MJHL in a move that was controversial to some fans. It appears as if the extra development time in the MJHL has been good for him. The most telling stat for me is the age of the players ahead of him in league scoring. The MJHL is a league typically dominated by 19 and 20 year olds. It turns out that eight of the 11 players ahead of Depape in scoring are 20, two are 19 and one is 18.
Also of note.. Wheat King prospect Brenden Walker is the only other player under 18 to make the top 30.
