Top Scorers: Jason Bast (23+37=60), Brendan Rowinski (16+27=43), Thomas Frazee (11+28=39), Travis Hamonic (11+26=37)
Top Defenceman: Travis Hamonic (11+26=37)
Probable starting goalie: Deven Dubyck (7-14-1-0, 4.43, 0.868)
Manitobans: Jesse Paradis (Winnipeg), Brendan Rowinski (Winnipeg), Quinton Howden (Oak Bank), Travis Hamonic (St. Malo), Paul Bonar (Brandon), Deven Dubyk (Minitonas)
Brandon Wheat Kings, 3rd in Eastern Conference, 44-18-3-2
Top Scorers: Brayden Schenn (29+51=80), Jay Fehr (30+48=78), Andrew Clark (37+37=74), Matt Lowry (13+60=73)
Top Defenceman: Colby Robak (13+28=41)
Probable Starting Goalie: James Priestner (16-7-1-1, 2.98, 0.886). At this point, Hayes is likely going to be the playoff starter IMO. If that's the case, he'll get as many starts as he can handle down the stretch to get on a roll.. but having alread started twice this week, he's due for a break.
1st Place watch: Wheat Kings are five points behind Saskatoon with five games each left to play. The Blades are in Prince Albert tonight. They would need to lose three of their final five games against Lethbridge, Prince Albert (3 times) and Moose Jaw for Brandon to have a shot at 1st.
The quest to be Brandon's first 100 point team in 13 years (95-96 team had 105 pts) continues tonight when the Wheat Kings host the struggling Moose Jaw Warriors.
Moose Jaw has lost 23 of their last 27 games. They have given up five goals or more in each of their last five games. In the two games these teams have played against each other in 2009, Brandon has won by a combined score of 13-1.
Scratches and lineups will be posted at approx the same time as usual.
