Vaughan the latest city to look at Southern Ont NHL team

Per the story below, a serious group has been positioning itself for an NHL team in Vaughan, Ontario should the league end up being in a position down the road where it would expand or relocate a team.
There was of course talk late last year about the possibility of a team in the Kitchener area, and before that in Hamilton. At the same time the idea was floated of a second team playing right out of the Air Canada Centre.
Vaughan the city has a population of just under 240,000 in 2006 but if of course close to a lot more people than that in the GTA.
The NHL has said that it has no plans to expand or relocate existing franchises at this time.... but if that ever changed and they decided to look at Toronto, it's sounding like it could be quite a battle for who would get the team.
