My son is 5 / 6 in Aug. He went to a couple practices last year but the team had had 11 practices already and all the kids had played together the previous yr. So he was definately behind and felt to discouraged with himself and his lack of skating ability.  
He wants to play hockey again this year I want to get him into some skating lessons before the hockey season starts so he feels confident when he hits the ice with the rest of the kids.  
Can anyone tell me if there is some kind of a skating program through the summer ? or a hickey camp to prepare them at that age for hockey ? I am wanting to not discourage his motivation to play being that he is a super active kid and this would be a great way to divert his energy.  
So just looking for some help to get him practicing on his skates and get some hockey experience.
