A bit of a blast from the past for Wheat King fans at the Olympics...
Sven Butenschon looks like he's going to be a regular contributor on Germany's defense (out of control beard and all
). So far near the end of the second period of their first game against Sweden, it's only 2-0 for the Swedes.. with one of the goals looking like it may have come as a result of goaltender interference.
Butenschon of course played three seasons for the Wheat Kings from 93-96 and then went on to bounce between the NHL and AHL for several years before returning to Europe.
