With Brandon about to host the Memorial Cup, quite possibly the second biggest hockey tournament to ever be hosted in Western Manitoba has gotten a bit lost in its shadow. The RBC Cup, featuring the top five teams in Canadian Junior A hockey, starts in Dauphin this weekend.
The hometown MJHL Champion Dauphin Kings kick off their tournament this Saturday night when they host the BCHL's Vernon Vipers. Players on the Kings from this area include Brett Willows (Rivers), Bryce Lamb (Killarney), Troy Hunter (Virden), Steven Shamanski (Carberry) and Zeanan Ziemer (Brandon). Their goaltender is former Wheat King Joe Caligiuri.
Knowing that eBrandon covers a pretty wide area and has some members all the way up in Dauphin, I'm curious how many eBrandonners will be attending or plan on following this tournament?
